Export Award Celebrates Resilience
Hon Steve Irons MP, recently dropped by to present Epichem CEO Colin La Galia and the team an Australian Export & Investment Award. Epichem is one of only 8 companies in Australia recognised for incredible resilience in the the face of major COVID disruptions in 2020.
Abdul Erkram, Austrade Senior Adviser and Mr Irons, Federal Member for Swan, toured the Epichem lab before the award presentation.
Mr Irons commented “I was pleased to be able to present this certificate on behalf of the Australian Government and Austrade acknowledging their outstanding contribution to our community and our economy. Their resilience serves as an inspiration to other businesses and illustrates how their diversification allowed them to adapt quickly”.
In 2020, with international projects on hold, Epichem moved quickly to pivot the business and support our staff. In the community Epichem stepped up by supplying community organisations with free hand sanitiser, demonstrating the importance of the community coming together in such a difficult time. As well, Epichem worked with distillers to convert gin to ethanol and then into hand sanitiser. We also developed dyed hand sanitisers that show which part of your hands are not sanitised.
EPICHEM continues to grow through international collaboration and export opportunities.
